2017 Life On The Farmette

Image
Time to reflect on this year's adventures on the farmette here in Mayer. Lots of photos!   This is our soon to be screen house for our garden. It will be organic and preditor free.     Next step after painting the floor base Buddy is putting together one of four sides. The floor base has given him a nice level area to work on.   This is Buddy putting together the third wall on the floor base of the greenhouse. Using the sides of the first two walls. Genius!     Third wall painted and attached! Starting to look like a Greenhouse. Door is next.   Two thumbs up!     Greenhouse door is finished and hung!  The strusses put together and up.   Our Farmette Screen House for Container Gardening.   Our backyard garden arbor/fence is finished! Used the redwood posts from James and Veronica's wedding.  Now due to the Goodwin fire the sky is not beautiful. Hope all is still here in a week. LOL!   Our lit...

Weaving How To

Image
It has been awhile since a post. Well it is a New Year after all! LOL I found a unique Tutorial on making a Simple Weavers Frame. I just love it! WEAVING LESSONS || HOW TO USE AN EMBROIDERY HOOP AS A LOOM Hey guys! This post is for those of you who want to try weaving on a circle loom, but you are not in the market for yet another loom. I get it, if I could I’d have 100 different looms, but that’s not happening anytime soon. So a more affordable option is to use an embroidery hoop! I’m so excited to share this with you.  Here are the steps: step 1| remove the outer ring and set to the side step 2| tie your warp thread to the embroidery hoop with a  slip knot step 3| pull the warp thread straight across the hoop step 4| bring the warp thread over the hoop and then down and around step 5| now pull the warp thread back towards the center, but an inch to the right side of where your warp thread started with a slip knot To pause for a moment and recount ...

Christmas Bliss

Image
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS AND MY FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS HERE AND ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE! I found a Tablescape for the Holidays I have to share with you  From ELLE DECOR!! TABLESCAPE TIPS Interior designer  Brian J. McCarthy  loves to entertain. And whether it's a detailed celebration planned months in advance or a dinner party pulled together the day-of, setting the table always comes first. Here, he shows us how he sets up for a holiday party with a look inspired by his interiors and his guests.   Avoid obtrusive centerpieces. If your flower arrangement is so elaborately large that you can't see the guests across the table, then it's time to downsize.  McCarthy adores this glass tree sculpture he found in Paris. It's tall, but its translucence allows for cross-table conversations. STEP 1: BRING IN A COLORFUL TABLECLOTH For the holidays, start with a backdrop of color.  Here, McCarthy opts for a deep plum tablecloth that ri...

Re-Do's For Family To-Do's

Image
New Year Coming and New Room Do-Overs! I want to share some Inspiring Photos of Rooms with a Theme. The first one is one I would like to do in a similar way(a smaller budget) in my step-down, once-a-porch, to a living room to Entertain in. The stenciling on the dining room ceiling was inspired by a Fortuny fabric, the light fixture is made of Indian lanterns, and a custom-made table is surrounded by 19th-century Italian chairs and Bullard-designed armchairs upholstered in a  Schumacher  linen; the walls are painted in  Farrow & Ball ’s Great White. SHARE A HEART FELT STORY/OPINION/INSPIRATION HERE! WHAT PULLS AT YOUR HEART STRINGS? Follow on my Facebook Page

HandMade Home Decor

Hand Made Home Decor Can Be Fun! I just finished a SUNFLOWER Wood Bead Door Curtain. I planned the design on a paper grid of which helped alot. Towards the end I Improvised and I believe it turned out well. I used old vintage brown grooved beads. They gave the curtain a look of Barn Wood Background. I am "Showcasing" this curtain in my New Shop in the Miller Valley Indoor Art Market in Prescott, AZ. Want to share a website for all those who have a project and need FUNDS. What a unique site! www.kickstarter.com Thanks for visiting! Cindy from Craft Flaire.
