Custom Order from NORWAY!

Image
Want to see a macrame curtain made from the start? Here is my current project! A custom order from Norway! Macrame Curtain Valance Size 5 Ft 5 Inches Wide by 4 Ft 11 Inches in Length I am using a Modern Rope/Cord in a JUTE COLOR. I will be Beading it as well! ENJOY THE PROGRESS PHOTOS! BE CAREFUL! YOU DON'T WANT TO GET CAUGHT UP IN YOUR WORK! I cut 102 ropes and used square knots to attach to the wooden dowels. I used two wooden dowels because it makes for easier removal of the top loops. In my Macrame Lessons I tell how to estimate the length of ropes needed for a project.  In three days I have got to the point of Beading the top arch. I will continue the top arch another 6 inches on each side along with keeping the Square knot weave around the beaded section. Follow my PDF Macrame Lessons on how-to's of Macrame! FINAL PHOTO! Thanks for visiting! Follow me on Facebook Cindy

Macrame Door Curtain

Image
I used a Vintage Pattern from the 1970's. It is a nicely firm square knot weave-look. The macrame cord is also vintage but in great condition. It is a black and white twist polyester cord. Photos show the WORK IN PROGRESS. I have already put in 40 hours of work and I will be putting in another 40 more hours to finish. This is a tight knotting pattern due to the cord is a smaller diameter. (3 mm) I will keep adding photos as I work along until the final photo! I have added my Wood Beaded Curtain Panels which our My Designs in Drapery Accents! These wood beads are also Vintage and in Excellent Shape! The top of door curtain features three woven in holes where you would hang your favorite collectibles; Bells, Beads, Feathers, etc.! ENJOY THE PHOTOS!  50 cords cut at 15 yards each , folded in half and looped over the top dowel with Lark Head Knots. Full view of door curtain in progress.  Bead Work done on sides. Close-up of top. The pattern is a tightly knotted with Square Knots. Circ

Buddy's Dream

Image
Finally back to work out on the claim! We have a New Gold Claim here now called, " BUDDY'S DREAM". We let the other claim go. We are still in the Bradshaw Mountain Range. There are three partners to this mining claim, therefore we have 60 acres.  The monsoons have started and we are checking out parts of the creek I have wanted to check for years!  You see I have been waiting to claim this area for 15 years and it finally became available! Enjoy the  photos. If you want bigger gold you gotta move boulders! So here is how the story unfolds!  We dug down to bedrock the first week down creek from the boulder.  Then Buddy uses his Handmade Vac.  This is Cindy, my Wife. Yes she helps!  The large boulder on the top right in  is the one I moved in the video and found the larger pieces of gold. Watch the video! One of our partners. Lana, was out at the claim the second week of this dig. She gave me all the encouragement she could to move that boulder!

Repurposed Home Decor

Image
Well I have seen a lot of different things "repurposed" in my day but not as Unique as this! From the Ellie Decor magazine. A collector of old water cans, I and with the help of my husband made a "Watercan Waterfall" in my wooden barrel planter last year. Now this was my first Video.  Need some Vintage Beads? They were intended for Macrame years ago. I reused a few in a Unique Way. A Fish Bowl! Create a little Serenity! To see more of my Vintage Supplies go to my Facebook Business Page called Craft Flaire. Thanks for Visiting! Cindy from Craft Flaire.

Classic Summer Dessert Made Low-Cal

Image
STRAWBERRY Shortcake Low-calorie angel food cake picks up the smoke and char of the grill and is topped with strawberries soaked in balsamic vinegar and black pepper To deliver flavor, the corporate cook relies on hulking scoops of ice cream, oversize brownies, and floods of molten chocolate. The home cook doesn't need such waist-expanding, palate-blunting effects to make dessert memorable. Here, low-calorie angel food cake picks up the smoke and char of the grill and is topped with strawberries soaked in balsamic vinegar and black pepper, an irresistible combination adored throughout northern Italy. Trust us, you'll be hooked. You'll Need: 2 cups sliced strawberries 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar Pinch of freshly cracked black pepper 1 Tbsp butter (optional) 4 wedges angel food cake, each 1" thick Whipped cream How to Make It: *Mix the strawberries, vinegar, and pepper and marinate for 10 to 15 minutes. *Heat a grill, stovetop grill pan, or nonstick saute pan until hot.
